KBR is seeking a Space Acquisition Specialist to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities include:

The Space Systems Engineer will be part of a talented team that provides launch service (LS) project management and systems engineering for Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) procurement of orbital and suborbital launch services in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC).The Space Systems Engineer is an expert at assessing LS requirements and designs, coordinating and monitoring development activities, tracking and verifying LS requirements and deliverables, identifying and assessing technical and schedule risks, developing and assessing LS mission budgets and supporting launch campaign activities. Provide project management and systems engineering support for RSLP contracted launch services. Coordinate actions with multiple mission partners and customers from DoD agencies and commercial industry. Facilitate and support integrated product teams, program management reviews, design & readiness reviews, technical interchange meetings and working groups. Assess and document project budget, cost accounting and schedules to meet customer objectives. Support the development and coordination of contract requirements documents, action items lists, presentation materials and decision briefings. Track development of hardware production and software development for completion of mission milestones. Ensure proper application of National, DoD. USAF, USSF and SSC policies. Prepare compliance documentation and assist in deviation and waiver processes. Identify potential project cost/schedule/performance risks and impacts; recommend risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate reviews of design documents and monitoring of system tests to support requirements verification. Coordinate launch campaign activities to include site preparation and facility support requirements.

Required Qualifications:

An active DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position 5+ years’ experience providing project management or systems engineering support to Space Systems Command or DoD/NASA/Commercial equivalent experience. Ability to provide leadership & management of multi-functional missions in a rapidly changing environment with multiple deadlines & deliverables. Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas and recommendations. Detail oriented and the ability to organize, prioritize, and address multi-program schedules simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and presentation skills. Proficiency with MS Office suite – specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint BS in Technical Management or Systems Engineering 

Desired:

Previous prior enlisted launch or missile experience considered as substitute for education requirement Proficiency in the Comprehensive Cost and Requirement System (CCaR); MS Project or and/or Confluence/Jira Relevant Project Management or Systems Engineering Certifications Master’s Degree in relevant education requirement Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Basic Compensation: $125,000 to $140,000. This range is for the New Mexico area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
