KBR has an opportunity supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Radar Systems Project Engineer supporting the Ground Based Phased Array Radar Branch of Space Operations Command Integrated Mission Delta 2, 2nd Sustainment Squadron (SpOC IMD2/2STS).

SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict.

SpOC IMD2/2STS integrates SDA operations with current SDA programs of record, networks, and Command and Control (C2) data exploitation and dissemination systems and is responsible for sustainment of existing ground-based optical and radar sensor systems including Eglin Radar, Space Fence, C-Band Radar, Australia, the Ground-Based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) system, and the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop engineering schedules and costs estimates; support the Program Manager to monitor and analyze cost and schedule performanceDraft, review, and provide input during the development of overarching system requirements and design documentation to include technical requirements documents (TRD); capability description documents (CDD); capability production documents (CPD); interface control documents (ICDs); system specifications and system, test and acceptance documentationProvide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectivenessProvide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTs.Support development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenariosParticipate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system deliveryDevelop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and proceduresSupport the development of system test plans in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints, support site and system test activities with contractor and Program Office personnelEstablish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules; identify program risks and mitigationsCoordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), fielding, Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Operational Acceptance (OA)Identify and track development and sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditionsProvide relevant input to acquisition planning activities, upgrades and modifications, and studies and interface with stakeholders, contractor personnel, and product integratorsDevelop and maintain relationships with DoD, Air Force, Space Force, and Intelligence Community stakeholders throughout the Space Domain Awareness enterpriseTravel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government directionOther duties as required/requested by the Government and within the scope of the contract

Qualifications:

Required:

Active Secret clearance, eligible for Top Secret/SCIBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline OR, 12 years of radar systems engineering4 or more years of relevant experience with 2 years in a Systems Engineering or Test Engineering role in a Program Office or Sustainment organization supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systems OR, Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline with 2 or more years of relevant experience in a Systems Engineering or Test Engineering role in a Program Office or Sustainment organization supporting similar Department of Defense or Intelligence Community Space Surveillance systemsMust be a US citizenExperience as an A&AS support contractorExperience in DoD software and hardware waterfall development effortsExperience with sensors, particularly radars

Desired:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearanceDefense Acquisition University (DAU), Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) or equivalent certification in Test and Evaluation, Engineering, or Program Management

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

115-125k

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
