Space Suit Technical Writer

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Space Suit Technical Writer** to join the team! The **Space Suit Technical Writer** will: + Support Johnson Space Center's activities on the Advanced Suit Team + Work with and be trained by senior spacesuit team members in the area of spacesuit test documentation. + Write spacesuit test documentation including Task Performance Sheets (TPSs) and Work Authorization Documents (WADs). + Develop spacesuit sizing documentation in conjunction with Spacesuit Test Engineers (STEs). + Write and update Advanced Suit Team Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Write/review test reports documenting results of executed suit tests. + Support spacesuit tests and record data, general test notes, documentation updates, and suit sizing updates. + Maintain a high level of technical excellence for all tasks to ensure the highest quality of technical products. + Perform other duties required **Requisition Qualifications:** + Typically requires a HS Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a field or in a related area. + High school diploma and (2) years of technical writing experience + Excellent oral and written communication skills. **Requisition Preferences:** + Prior NASA experience **Why Join Our Team?** In addition to exciting career opportunities, we also have: + Excellent personal and professional career growth + 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), when applicable + Onsite cafeteria (breakfast & lunch) + Much, much more! May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). **Equipment and Machines** Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). **Attendance** Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. **Other Essential Functions** Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
