We have an exciting opportunity for a Spacecraft Systems Software Engineer to join the team.

Spacecraft Software Systems Insight and Oversight for spacecraft systems including requirements development, software and embedded hardware engineering, and testing. Insight and oversight of project objectives from design development to inspection and approval.

The Spacecraft Systems Software Engineer will\:

Provide Management and Oversight Provide PM level insight and oversight of spacecraft subsystem(s) across the entire development lifecycle Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Level knowledge of the hardware and software Work in an Integrated Product Team to provide Insight and Oversight of both non safety-critical and safety-critical systems Identifying, document, and elevate risks, issues, and opportunities and provide recommendations Software Process Assessments (including Compliance assessments) across the full development life cycle Perform product assessment for completeness of design and implementation throughout the full development lifecycle Ensure NASA requirements are satisfied by design solutions and support production/control board meetings, design and system reviews Support the development of milestone and manufacturing readiness review products and participate in module system reviews Interface with NASA and spacecraft system engineering teams Subsystem insight and oversight Coordinate with the Subsystem Management team on programmatic requirement change requests, design review support, interface definition and control, verification integration, and provide status on high level development progress and issues Monitor system integration, interface management and coordination Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination skills Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors Communicate and demonstrate progress to management Organize and manage multiple priorities Work in a fast-paced, Agile environment Perform other duties as assigned or as required *

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master’s degree and normally possess 10-15 years of related experience. Technical (General) Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria Experience in risk assessment and implementation of risk reducing measures Experience leading a development project across the full development life cycle Technical (Avionics & Software) Experience developing software and hardware across the full development life cycle Safety Critical Human-Rated Development Testing and Verification (including Independent V&V) Writing/reviewing test and verification definitions Avionics C&DH (Command and Data Handling) Autonomous Systems Professional Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, Skype, SharePoint, Jira Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop avionic systems Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude Experience fostering a collaborative team environment Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision Fostering and working in a collaborative team environment Effectively communicate across a wide range of technical disciplines, with vendors/contractors, direct customers and upper management Ability to prepare written documents/presentations and to verbally present at various meetings Self-starter who can understand and absorb new concepts quickly
