Job Description
We are looking for a Manufacturing Automation Specialist to join our Global Animal Health Manufacturing IT team at Salamanca manufacturing site. The general objective of the manufacturing automation specialist position is to implement, maintain, and improve automation and control systems in manufacturing/operations processes to increase quality and optimize production.
Responsibilities include:
Implements, tests, troubleshoots and improves electronic automation and controls systems in manufacturing/production/operations processes to increase production quality, efficiency and volume.
Supports modernization of our core shopfloor automated systems. This includes the digitization and automation of solutions like Data Historians, Process Control and Automation systems, as well as Plant and Facilities Management solutions.
Supports the operational integrity of the solutions, including systems life cycle methodology documents, Standard Operating Procedures, change management and data integrity.
The role involves supporting operational technology, driving business strategies and analytics, and ensuring the integrity of our solutions.
This position requires collaboration with various project implementation teams
Key
Checks control system schematics and specifications and uses software and testing equipment to diagnose and resolve system malfunctions.
Develops and defines control system applications and works with vendors to deliver various machinery and equipment using technologies or platforms such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), data control systems (DCSs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), computerized numerical control (CNC) systems or motion control technology.
Collaborates on capital projects and designs manufacturing automation solutions
Elicits requirements for systems and software life cycle working practices and automation. Prepares design options for the working environment of methods, procedures, techniques, tools, and people. Digitization and automation of solutions such as “Data Historians”, process controls, engineering systems, and maintenance and plant infrastructure management solutions
Selects systems and software life cycle working practices for software components and micro-services.
Keep both the CMDB and the inventory of local automated systems updated, acting as the OT “Data Steward”
Deploys automation to achieve well-engineered and secure outcomes.
Requirements:
Education: BSc Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Manufacturing Automation, Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
The candidate should have 3+ years of related experience in supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Experience using technologies or platforms such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), data control systems (DCSs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), specially AVEVA Wonderware.
