Job Overview:

The Processing Technician is responsible for the daily activities of the Central Sterile Processing Department, which includes all aspects of the decontamination and sterilization processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalentCRCST CertificationMaintains membership with a recognized Central Sterile AssociationProven work record and commitment towards continuing educationSuccessful completion of site personnel general orientationSuccessful completion of department specific orientation

Scheduling Requirements:

Evening ShiftFull-Time40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Understands the cleaning products and procedures used in Central Service and is able to choose the appropriate cleaning method for each itemProcess and maintains surgical instruments for OR, Delivery Room, Dental clinic, clinics, ED, X-Ray, Minor Surgery and nursing unitsPicks all instruments and assembles instrument trays and baskets for OR, ED, Delivery Room, Minor Surgery, X-Ray, nursing units and various other departmentsOperates and maintains all mechanical cleaning machinery, sterilizer, cart washer, decomats and drying cabinets, etc. within the Central Service departmentSorts, examines, delints, folds, wraps and sterilizes linenPerforms all other duties when requested
