Job Overview:
The SPD Technician, Certified, is responsible for the daily activities of the Central Sterile Supply Department which includes all aspects of the decontamination and sterilization process.

Required:
High School diploma or equivalentCRCST CertificationMaintains membership with a recognized Central Sterile AssociationSuccessful completion of site personnel general and department specific orientationsScheduling Requirements:
Day ShiftPart-Time20 hours per weekEssential Functions:
Check all instruments to ensure all parts of instruments/equipment are thoroughly clean and functioning prior to the sterilization processCleans all patient care equipment properly to prevent cross infection and to provide protection and maintain the health of patients and personnelIdentifies criteria for selecting a method of disinfection and/or sterilization by following manufacturer s recommendationsMaintains the appropriate working condition of equipment utilized in direct patient carePerforms biological monitoring of steam, ETO and gas plasma sterilization to provide the necessary assurance that sterilization parameters have been metReviews sterilizer performance tests and completes required documentationPerforms all other duties as assignedBenefits and Perks:
