Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Acting Dean of University College, the Special Assistant to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies is responsible for supporting the administration of the Office and implementing new advising and student success initiatives. This position assists with ongoing efforts while the University transitions from Ellucian Banner to Workday Student systems. This role plays a key part in continuing the successful management of diverse programs within the Office.
**Continued employment in this position is contingent upon the project's duration, workload needs, and available funding.**
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and support university-wide initiatives for undergraduate students that are coordinated through the Office for Undergraduate Education.
Collaborate with team members to enhance academic advising assessment and campus strategy for utilizing its student success and predictive analytics platform, EAB’s Navigate.
Support the integration of Bloomfield College academic advising services into the Montclair model.
Oversee prioritization and implementation of dashboards and reporting for the unit; collaborate with Associate Dean of University College on annual report.
Implement recommendations of Business Process Analysis for advising-related issues.
Manage credit adjustments, grade changes, and other degree exceptions.
Support the implementation of the new general education curriculum.
Support the implementation of Workday Student, a new student information system for the campus, by attending decision meetings, assisting with data entry tasks, conducting testing, and offering training to colleagues.
Assist in managing the enrollment pipeline with University-wide Enrollment Team.
Develop and maintain content for unit webpages; liaise with Office of Student Communications as well as University Communications.
Support the unit’s grant-writing efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
A minimum of four year's experience in higher education, preferably in academic affairs, advising, new student or transfer experience, or enrollment management.
Experience with student information systems and student-facing applications.
Ability to communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders on many subjects.
Exceptional organizational, analytical and teamwork skills.
PREFERRED:
Familiarity with higher education issues, IPEDS, assessment, and academic success indicators.
Experience running reports with Cognos and/or using data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
