Seneca’s School Partnership Program is hiring for a Special Education Teacher to guide grades K-5 to success at Harvey Green Elementary in Fremont, CA. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll meet students’ needs through their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Treatment Plans. Your skills will help create a supportive environment where strengths are celebrated and individual needs are met with targeted intervention. You’ll work alongside a team including Therapists, Counselors, and Educational Leaders to transform education in a way that connects students to therapeutic services, community resources, and a personalized curriculum.
Seneca’s Unconditional Education Constellation Program partners with 8 campuses across 3 different school districts, Castro Valley Unified, Fremont Unified, and San Lorenzo Unified to support youth and their families in finding success in the school system. Constellation provides Counseling Enriched Classrooms(CEC) at 2 High School, 2 Elementary, and 3 Middle Schools with 1-3 Mental Health Counselors and a therapist that can register with the BBS. In addition we have also added Outpatient therapy and a Wellness Coach who focuses on truancy and family support at one of our High Schools. Responsibilities Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to implement academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for special education students with emotional disturbancesUse backwards design principles to deliver a differentiated curriculum, rooted in state content standardsUse student-centered instructional methods as defined by the school's Learning PrinciplesEmploy authentic and norm-referenced assessment strategies to monitor progress and guide instructional planning and decision makingProvide individualized academic intervention programs to target at-risk learnersEngage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needsCo-lead the classroom team to maintain a structured therapeutic learning environment based on Seneca's philosophy Qualifications Bachelor’s degree AND Candidates must possess a California Education Specialist teaching credential (Prelim Ed Specialist, Intern, STSP/PIP or Special Education)Must be eligible to work in the United States without any restrictionsReliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting spotsTB test clearance, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirementsProof of COVID-19 vaccination Schedule School based schedule:Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 33 paid school break days BenefitsStarting salary is dependent on the teacher's credentials.
