Special Education Teacher III
Job title: Special Education Teacher Location: Honolulu HI Contract -6 months Description : + Gather and review data on a child's medical, developmental, environmental, and family history. + Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations to determine eligibility and assess developmental skills. + Report and discuss findings with families and team members. + Provide direct services as a PSP or Consultant, utilizing coaching practices with families and team members. + Plan and provide individualized developmental strategies. + Provide services in natural learning environments and support families in incorporating learning into daily routines. + Assist in developing and reviewing IFSPs, including transition planning and outcomes. + Participate in team meetings to analyze evaluation findings, develop IFSPs, and discuss child/family outcomes. + Stay updated on evidence-based practices in early intervention. + Complete documentation and submit required data on time. + Provide in-service training to staff and supervise special education students. Knowledge + Evidence-based practices for early intervention. + Family-centered principles of early intervention and IDEA Part C regulations. + Early childhood development and community services for early intervention. + Ability to plan and execute responsibilities independently. + Effective communication with families, staff, and community partners. + Stay updated on best practices and trends in early intervention. Education + Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education (minimum 12 credits in special education) or Master’s in special education. + Minimum 1.5 years of experience teaching children with developmental disabilities. + Experience in providing early intervention services and administering evaluations preferred. Tools, Equipment, and Machines + Basic knowledge of copy machines, fax machines, computers, and video conferencing platforms.
