We are in search of highly qualified candidates who have a passion for working with students with disabilities, value collaboration with colleagues, and a strong desire to learn and grow as an educator. Candidates should have a valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements required for the position or the ability to acquire the appropriate licensure and endorsements. This position requires a Strategist II endorsement. The district is offering a $2,500.00 signing bonus for any candidate with Strat. II endorsement selected for the position (additional information provided at the time of employment offer). Additionally, if a candidate does not have the required endorsement, the district will financially support the selected candidate to obtain the appropriate endorsements. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities + Knowledge of and enthusiasm to work with students at the designated level. + Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of each student. + Ability to create and maintain healthy relationships with students, staff, parents and community. + Ability to provide instruction to effectively meet the needs of all students. + Ability to effectively implement multiple teaching methods (co-teaching, small group, differentiation, etc). + Knowledge and ability to implement the Iowa Teaching Standards. + Knowledge of special education evidence-based practices + Ability to communicate effectively with others. + Ability to effectively use technology for instruction, communication and data management. + Ability to effectively engage in professional growth individually and with collaborative teams. + Ability to implement federal, state and district goals with students. + Knowledge of Federal, State and Department of Iowa regulations.
