Job Posting: Special Education Teacher

Location: South Madison
Start Date: 2 Weeks after Winter Break
Salary/Wage: $50/hr
Terms/Schedule: Full time – Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Appointment Type: Full Time

Description:
South Madison is seeking a dedicated and passionate special educationteacher to serve students in grades 9-12 The ideal candidate will beknowledgeable in the following areas:

Co-teaching Development and Implementation of IEPs Elementary curriculum Zones of Regulation Problem Solving Data-Based Decision Making Collaborative Partnerships Relationship Building with Staff, Students, and Families

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and support inclusive classrooms. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs. Utilize the elementary curriculum to create engaging and effective lesson plans. Apply the Zones of Regulation framework to support students’ emotional and behavioral development. Employ problem-solving strategies and data-based decision making to address student needs. Foster collaborative partnerships with colleagues, families, and the community. Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families to create a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred). Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience in co-teaching and developing IEPs. Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies.
