More Than a Classroom
The Bancroft School is a unique educational program that aims to empower students with autism by providing teachable moments throughout their day. In addition to traditional academic subjects, the program also focuses on daily living and social skills. Art and music, along with Adaptive Physical Education and Enrichment activities and an activity pool for water safety, swim instruction, and recreation are all part of the Bancroft experience.
ResponsibilitiesHow You Can Make a Real Impact:
Assess students’ individual abilities and create customized lessons plans Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-buildingReview IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications Provide training for parents, in the classroom and at homeUtilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles throughout the educational experience of the people we serveCommunicate with students, families, and guardians

QualificationsWe’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who:
Have a Bachelor’s degree Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ Pre-K to 3 or K to 6 or K-8"Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)” or “Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)”Have effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skillsMinimum of one year of teaching experience in special education preferredKnowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities.Effective teaching and facilitation skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required
