10 month position MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking a special education teacher to provide instruction and support to students enrolled in the BT BOCES Virtual Learning Academy. Key responsibilities include: + Design, facilitate, implement, and monitor progress of IEP goals + Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and methods, including differentiation, to meet diverse student needs. + Structure the student environment to provide a supportive virtual educational setting that maximizes student potential + Ongoing collaboration with the Student Success Team, and other teachers working with the students. + Support students to achieve high expectations + Accurately complete all paperwork related to provided services in a timely manner as mandated by NYS and school policies and procedures Job Qualifications REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Must have NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher: SWD 7-12 Generalist or SWD K-12 + Prefer candidate to also hold NYS Certification SWD 7-12 in Math, English, Science or Social Studies + Strong collaboration skills + A commitment to meeting the needs of every student + A strong belief that all students can succeed + Strong use of instructional technology to meet student needs Civil Service Title: Special Education Teacher Job Number: 24-224
