Special Procedures RN (MNA) Oncology - Kenmore - Part time 30HRS

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team supporting the oncology department for our Kenmore practice location of Atrius Health. This is a part time 30HR position

Under direction of the department chief, nurse leader or designee, the nurse's responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The infusion nurse duties include but are not limited to: administering chemotherapy, administering other specialty infusion therapy, and providing patient education. Provides telephone triage and clinical advice appropriately; coordinates the follow­up care of patients and practice management support. Proficiency will be needed for the following; IV placement, preparation and administration of IV medication, IM injections. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principles and practices of clinical research.

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

Graduate of a state approved school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Possess a current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

Biotherapy certification and OCN preferred, but not required.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in medical/surgical or ambulatory nursing required; exceptions in consultation with VP of Nursing.

Oncology experience preferred.

Peripheral IV and Port Access experience preferred.

Experience with an electronic medical records system, EPIC experienced preferred.
