Salary: 35.75-45.89 USD Facility: Mercy Hospital of Buffalo Shift: Shift 2 Status: Part Time w/Benefits FTE: 0.600000 Bargaining Unit: CWA Local 1133 Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No Work Schedule: Evenings with Weekend and Holiday Rotation Hours: Shifts are as follows: 11:00am - 7:00pm 1:00pm - 9:00pm 3:00pm - 11:00pm 3:30pm - 11:30pm Summary: A Special Procedures Technologist performs routine and specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and related clerical functions at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. All Special Procedure Technologists are familiar with the variety of supplies and devices used during the performance of interventional procedures. Demonstrates ability and performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. Responsibilities include assisting the physician by scrubbing in on procedures, filming procedures, sending images to PACS, creates DVDs and prints films as needed. Is the source for providing knowledge and expert guidance related to Radiation safety with the departments. Must be able to work as a team with radiologists and patient care staff. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + Graduate of an Approved School of Radiologic Technology + Current Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists - Radiological Technologist Registry (ARRT) (R). Must maintain this primary registration at all times to be eligible for certification and registration EXPERIENCE + One (1) year experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist required CREDENTIALS + New York State License as a "general Radiologic Technologist" and current New York State Department of Health certificate of registration as a Radiologic Technologist + Certified to inject with the NYSDOH within 90 days of hire + BLS required within 90 days of hire KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY + Good judgment + Analytical ability + Excellent attention to detail + Responsible + Ability to work unsupervised + Ability to interpret data and draw conclusions + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS: + Good general health necessary in order to stand and walk most of the day.
