ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Serve and promote a safe environment for hotel guests and team members through keen observation.
• Stand at stationary/mobile posts inside/outside the hotel as directed by the supervisor, Director of Security, or their representative.
• Respond to suspicious, unusual, or emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response by following established protocols.
• Respond in a calm demeanor for any/all emergencies that may arise, i.e., bomb threats, medicals, deaths, domestic disturbance, etc.
• Will maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment and firearm.
• Will be required to use rapid and sound judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation level of force.
• Will work in an environment and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, using protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.
• Must meet and continue to meet required training standards related to handgun qualification.
• Patrol the property on a continual basis to assess and observe potential threats or suspicious activity.
• At all times, the officer will handle themselves calmly, professionally, and courteously to guests, co-workers, team members, and individuals on the property.
• Address any problem and/or incident on the property and communicate with the supervisor during the tour of duty.
• Be observant in all areas inside/outside of the hotel for safety concerns or suspicious circumstances.
• Use good judgment, reason, and a calm demeanor when approaching or responding to a volatile or armed situation.
• In the event of an emergency or similar situation, take control and instruct fellow co-workers, team members, and guests as to the best course of action to take.
• Complete investigations and subsequent reports by asking questions pertinent to the situation, such as; who, what, where, why, how, etc., to gather sufficient details to thoroughly satisfy investigation/report requirements. Use a computer report writing system to complete reports and be able to follow through/up on any given report.
• Make constant contact with both guests/team members to provide optimal service. This includes contacting various departments to provide/obtain pertinent information for guest service, investigations, etc.
• Liaise with outside law enforcement and maintain good communications skills and professionalism with agencies such as Police Officials, Fire Department, FBI, Secret Service, and Governmental Officials.
• Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
· Minimum of 21 years of age or older.
· Must submit to and pass company paid drug screen test and background check.
· Undergo all required training and maintain a high level of expertise in all fields.
· Candidates must either:
o hold and maintain a CCW issued by a political subdivision of the State of Nevada;
o or be able to obtain a CCW issued by a political subdivision of the State of Nevada within 130 days from date of offer to obtain CCW or employer has option to separate employment,
o be presently employed as an active duty Law Enforcement officer in the State of Nevada,
o or is a retired law enforcement officer who holds a current Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA / HR218) card,
o or be an honorably discharged veteran with Combat Arms Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or SOF experience
· Must complete a psychological evaluation, paid for by GSR, and accompanying interview. Must pass with a satisfactory/passing score; results will be forwarded to GSR Human Resources as pass/fail.
· Must participate in and pass company-paid pre-employment range and shooting qualifications.
· Must submit to and pass company-paid drug screen test.
· Must submit to a company-paid background check.
· Must obtain and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness Card.
· Must obtain Nevada Armed Gaming Control Board Registration.
· Must pass Physical Agility Test consisting of a 100-yard dash – 30 second time limit, 150 lbs sandbag/dummy drag – 1 minute time limit, and 15 pushups. – 1 minute time limit.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
· Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Nevada Gaming Work Board, Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM) and Nevada Driver License throughout employment.
· Must maintain a CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
· Must have a current Nevada CCW or LEOSA card
o Candidate has 130 days from date of offer to obtain CCW or employer has option to separate employment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or successful completion of a GED certificate.
· Must possess prior law enforcement experience or honorably discharged Veteran with Combat Arms Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or SOF experience.
· Minimum three (3) years’ experience and in-depth comprehensive knowledge in security, investigations, live events, law enforcement, self-awareness training techniques, and risk management is preferred.
· Advanced computer skills with various VMS, investigative and access control software systems. Must have working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Team Member must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management, team members and others.
· Regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull.
· Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
