RiverTech is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to serve as Special Security Officer (SSO)/Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist providing comprehensive security services to the Joint Staff Security Office-South (JSSO-South) - Suffolk Responsibilities Ensures that all personnel have the requisite clearance to perform their jobs and to ensure the acceptance and retention of military, civilian, and contractor personnel is consistent with the interests of National Security. Provide PERSEC expertise to the JSSO in application of National (Executive Orders), DoD, Joint Staff (JS), and NATO security policy, procedures, systems, and programs to ensure security eligibility of personnel for entry into facilities, assignment to sensitive positions, and access to sensitive and classified information. Support the JS operation of a full-service PERSEC Office with SCI SSO authority to grant interim clearances, suspend access, and refer persons to the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Consolidated Adjudications Services (CAS) for revocation of security clearances. Assist the JSSO with PERSEC policy and procedures that align the JS with the DoD Directives and Regulations. Provides functional expertise to the JSSO by performing collateral and SCI clearance processing, Visit Requests, Forms Processing and Customer Support and Security Training and Procedural Support. Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of experience in Personnel Security (PERSEC) discipline. Must possess a working knowledge of the U.S. Government Security Programs (i.e. Physical Security program which includes electronic security systems, Physical Access control, Video Surveillance, and intrusion detection and skills in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs). Must be able to review, analyze, and resolve complex issues. Associate's degree. Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
