Special Systems and Electrical Construction Inspector (part-time)
We are looking for a Special Systems and Electrical Construction Inspector to support our utility and building work in the Vancouver, WA area. To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the project being constructed is in full compliance with code requirements and contract documents. This position is initially a part time position growing to at least half time towards the end of 2025 and full time in 2026. You will be inspecting electrical systems including conduit, wiring, panel boards, transformers, medium voltage, low voltage, temporary power, permanent power, and other electrical systems. In addition, you will be inspecting building data and communications systems including security, cameras, power monitoring, DDC, fire alarm, voice paging system, data, wireless networks, video wall, communications rooms, cable trays, conduit, testing, network switches, coordinating shutdowns, elevator/escalator monitoring and other special systems. You’ll be working under the direction of a Resident Engineer and will assume the following functional responsibilities: * Perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the special systems and electrical systems installation work. * Monitor and inspect the work of contractors to ensure code compliance. * Review plans, specifications, submittals, drawings, change orders, and Requests for Information for requirements of the construction contract to be applied in the field. * Prepare and maintain documentation including inspection logs, daily reports, digital photographic documentation, force accounts, materials testing, and other construction records. * Identify, document and track closure of contractor work that is out of compliance or deficient. Initiates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for action by the Resident Engineer. * Be familiar and comply with the Site Specific Safety Plan and be an active participant in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work environment, including participation in preparatory meetings, field observations/job walks, and documenting corrective actions as needed Join us and we will assist you in continuing the development of your skills and exploring all that you can do across our global company, with opportunities to share your knowledge along the way. * 10+ years of experience with special systems and electrical inspection in compliance with electrical construction code requirements. * Proficient in the use of computer application programs such as Word, Excel, construction management specific software, and others systems * Security Requirements - As the successful candidate, you must pass a Department of Energy background check as well as a criminal history background. Your employment will be contingent upon passing these background checks.
