This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.

You should have:

DSc, PhD, or equivalent degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, or other applicable field of science (e.g. Physics or Mathematics) At least 3-5 years of experience on antenna arrays, RF metamaterials and/or antenna design At least 3-5 years of experience on using EM simulation tools (e.g. CST, HFSS) Profound understanding of several of the following scientific/engineering topics: Microwave Transceivers, RF passive devices, Computational Electromagnetics, Radio Wave Propagation Good communication and team-working skills, experience on presenting own research work to different audiences (e.g. in a scientific conference) Good proficiency in written and spoken English

It would be nice if you also have:

Understanding of wireless communications, especially 5G-and-beyond mobile communication signals and systems Proficiency in C++, Matlab, Python, or equivalent scripting languages for hardware interfacing, math, and data processing Hands-on experience on working in a research laboratory environment, incl. tasks such as:  RF/microwave measurements, Vector Network Analysis, Vector Signal Analysis Antenna measurements, Near-field and/or far-field antenna measurement systems Antenna and RF front-end prototyping Electronics prototyping with SPI/I2C/equivalent interfacing Knowledge of RF microelectronics and active antennas Basic knowledge of AI/ML applied to own field of research

Your role as an antennas and arrays research specialist is to conduct research projects and investigate fundamental scientific and conceptual problems with the aim of developing innovative solutions that can lead to new inventions, products, or market opportunities. As an individual contributor, you demonstrate initiative, and work independently. You contribute novel ideas to resolve difficult problems that have an impact on the field of research. The work environment is dynamic and encourages disruptive innovations while building robust intellectual property for Nokia.

The role requires proven competence in Electrical/Electronics Engineering at the D.Sc. level. You should have research expertise in RF topics, preferably including design of antennas and/or antenna arrays. Understanding the underlying principles of electromagnetic theory, and readiness to apply the knowledge for innovating new antenna concepts are a great advantage.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and to contribute to the growth and success of Nokia.
