Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Risk and Assurance, the newly created position of Specialist, Assurance and Compliance will manage a comprehensive risk assurance program aligned to Newmont’s Risk Management Strategy and System.
The primary purpose of the role will be to drive process and system compliance across relevant regulations, policies, standards, and procedures across the Commercial function which includes supply chain, sales & marketing, and transportation & logistics. The role will support the optimization of Newmont’s Risk Management System (RMS) which includes the enhancement of our control performance, support audit activities and refine and execute Management Action Plans.
To be considered for the position, the ideal applicant will bring depth of demonstrated capability managing risk identification, ensuring critical controls are effective and a proven track record of implementing tangible improvement solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and cross functional subject matter experts.
The ideal applicant will also have:
Undergraduate Degree in Risk Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, IT and/or Business AdministrationPrevious experience in large-scale mining operations and global end-to-end supply chain Knowledge of risk management principles and systems including process control techniques (i.e root cause analysis)Ability to confidently influence stakeholders including strategic leadership and cross-functional teamsProficient skills in SAP and Ariba and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
The position will suit applicants currently living in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane. Residents of another Australian capital city will be considered for the ideal candidate. The role will be offered on a hybrid/work from home basis utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in your role. Full eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
