Job Overview:

Trinitas Regional Medical Center is seeking a full-time Specialist to join our team in Elizabeth, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

B.A. or B.S. in psychology or social work (In lieu of degree, five years clinical experience with children/adolescent population)New Jersey valid driver's license in good standingMust be bilingual (Spanish and English)

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift - 37.5 hrs/weekFull-time Schedule

Essential Functions:

Participates in creating a therapeutic milieu which supports the program goals of providing a nurturing and supportive environment to assist participants in learning to deal effectively with emotions and behaviors.Implements program rules and behavior modification system.Arranges social and recreational activities as needed.Records pertinent data according to standards.Coordinates the registration process and ensures that all consents/authorizations are obtained prior to treatment.Participates in the development of an appropriate treatment plan and in subsequent treatment plan reviews.Participates in weekly team meetings and weekly planning meetings.Coordinates scheduling for follow up to all appointments with the program physician.Precepts new employees and students, as requested.Provides case management services when patients transition from one level of service to another.Independently initiates contact with appropriate outside providers as necessary, in order to effect comprehensive treatment planning.Ensures that program participants receive meals and medications on a daily basis.Leads assigned psycho-education groups on a regular basis and as needed.Drives program vehicle (van) to transport patients to and from program, as requested.Independently participates in crisis situations, on site, as directed. This includes the use of mechanical restraints, when necessary.
