Education, experience and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. CIPP/E certification is required. If you’re not currently certified but have a strong interest in obtaining it within the first 6 months, we encourage you to apply! Minimum 3 years experience in privacy, law, compliance, or related fields. Familiarity with EU, UK, and US (and ideally other countries’, e.g., China, Brazil, Canada) privacy laws. Experience working in a highly matrixed organization with demonstrated ability to accomplish measurable goals. Demonstrated ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues. Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to present information/complex matters clearly, and concisely. Strong spoken, written and listening English skills. Additional Privacy and data security certifications or in process (e.g., CIPP/US and/or CIPT) are considered an asset. Ability to work globally across different cultures and time zones coupled with a willingness to travel to Howmet’s worldwide facilities.

For our Privacy Office we’re seeking a talented Privacy Specialist. If you’re passionate about privacy, compliance, and data protection in a global perspective, this role is perfect for you!

As a Privacy Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our organization adheres to privacy regulations globally, protects our employees personal data and be responsible for the strategy and direction of Howmet Aerospace’s data protection activities. 

Key activities:

Track and monitor the growing global laws and regulations related to data privacy. Suggest changes to the data protection strategy based on changes or conflicts in international laws. Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and documentation. Serve as the point of contact for employees. As part of supporting Howmet Aerospace’s privacy program Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities, including the purposes of all processing activities, which must be made public upon request.  Take ownership in deploying privacy training and awareness programs for employees. Assisting in the management of data subject requests (DSRs) Handle incident response related to privacy events.
