Specialist, Electrical Test Engineer
Job Title: Test Engineering Specialist, Electrical Engineering Job Code: 21010 Job Location: San Diego, CA Job Schedule: On-site 9/80 Schedule (Every other Friday off!) Relocation: Relocation assistance is available to qualified applicants Job Description: This is an electrical engineering design position responsible for developing Test Fixtures and Test Rack assemblies within the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment of L3Harris. This team, located in San Diego, CA, designs Electrical Specialized Test Equipment (ESTE) in the form of test sets and fixtures that are used in missions spanning across the domains our SAS segment designs mission deliverable hardware. Designed ESTE Racks are used in space-based applications, avionics systems, and verification testing purposes. Team members need general working knowledge of electrical test equipment (Power Supplies, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and Network Analyzers), National Instruments hardware (PXI Chassis, Data Acquisition Modules, and Digital I/O Modules), or other ATE system(s). Team members need general working knowledge of lab maintenance, cable build experience per IPC-620A standard, familiarity with commercial off the shelf test equipment. Familiarity with cable dressing and test rack sub assembly construction. Essential Functions: + Works under limited supervision + Create requirements, design documentation for Electrical Test Fixtures, verification documents, validation procedures and other technical documents as needed while ensuring adherence to defined design processes + Collaborate with engineering personnel to ensure adherence to customer expectations or requirements + Collaborate with STE Design team on the build and integration of new systems + Complete lab maintenance logs to maintain work area requirements + Perform maintenance functions on existing STE platforms + Assist the production team with general STE inquiries + Perform initial troubleshoot on failed STE systems + Support NRTL inspections of STE systems + Organize improvement initiatives to lab spaces + Coordinate use of lab spaces with group lead + Perform Analog & Digital circuit design + Develop custom cables and harnesses + Provide engineering support of existing ESTE equipment being used at the Rochester facility + Ensure adherence to defined design processes while performing to program schedule and budget constraints + LabVIEW/TestStand development experience + Conduct technical presentations Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university and 4+ years of relevant engineering work experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. + Analog & Digital circuit design experience and ability to work with E/M-CAD tools + Experience with Environmental Testing of Electrical Subsystems (TVAC, EMI, or Vibration) Preferred Additional Skills: + IPC 620-A Certification + Microsoft Visio Professional experience + Ability to work with E-CAD tools + Ability to work with Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. + Lab skills that include hands-on build and debug of equipment including root-cause analysis + Motivated and driven to meet project deadlines and commitments + Ability to work alone with little direction or as part of a team + Ability to develop requirements, design specifications, verification documents, and other technical documents as needed + Creative in solving problems within project constraints + Analog & Digital circuit test experience + RF circuit alignment and test experience + Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $90,500.00 -$168,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
