Job Overview: 

We utilize a complex inventory cost management system called GPD (Grouping, Pegging and Distribution) that plays a critical role in our program performance. We are seeking a proactive, self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment to understand, help maintain, and even enhance the performance of our system in order to maintain the highest accuracy of our project ledgers. Must possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate with key functional stakeholders including Program Management and Operations. Ideal candidate must be detail oriented with good organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking and the ability to work with minimal day to day supervision.  Successful candidates will demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, with a commitment to quality while developing their leadership skills as a key business partner.

Essential Functions: 

Act as the subject matter expert for financial and logistical performance of inventory behavior on programs, providing management with an early warning of potential performance issues, identifying risks and offering solutionsPartner with Operations, Finance, and Program teams to ensure that material movements are performed with financial accuracy, complianceEvaluation of cost impact of any changes (past and forecasted) driven by inventory system behaviorsEducate and lead efforts to support warehouse personnel in appropriate costing of inventory, validating write-off results and ensuring transactional accuracy in the physical inventory systemEducate and participate in efforts to support Operational planning team with movement of physical shop orders and material costing activities on the floorSupport reconciliations of physical to financial inventory for audits with internal and external customerUtilize SAP to provide visibility into inventory accuracy performance and root cause issuesCommunicates within and outside the organization to explain and influence changes to practices and processes.Provides suggestions and implantation of new process improvement initiativesPerform ad-hoc analysis, data integrity checks, and validations related to program financialsEducation of program managers, analysts, operations personnel, leadership and others as required about functions and limitations of financial inventory systemOther duties as assignedAbility to come into the office 1 day per week.

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior program finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A broad experience and understanding of impact analysis, financial movements, system architecture and transaction analysis especially as it relates to inventory and inventory costingExperience with business analysis reporting tools such as SQL, Business Objects, Tableu, etc.Advanced experience with Excel and other MS OFFICE toolsAbility to build collaborative relationships, earn trust, and thrive in an inclusive environmentExperience with creating and understanding complex reporting criteriaDoD contractor experience preferred
