The Specialist, HR Business Partner, working under close supervision, is responsible for delivering projects and assisting the corporate services HR team. The role ensures compliance with HR processes, provides support in employee relations and recruitment, and implements decisions based on policies and procedures. Additionally, the role facilitates change management, implements new hire orientation processes and procedures, and contributes to the development of retention strategies for key talent. The role assists leaders and corporate HR teams in various employment and management-related issues.
+ Assists departmental heads and business leaders in drafting, analyzing, and implementing decisions that tend to relate to people and culture aspects of the business units.
+ Develops a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards with respect to subjects pertinent to the HR Business Partner function.
+ Maintains full knowledge of industry practices. Coordinates with the other HR functions and Business managers to provide support in employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves, performance management, company policies, training, and legal requirements.
+ Designs and facilitates appropriate orientation and induction programs for all incoming employees and workers. Arranges exit interviews for staff leaving the organization and advises line management of the outcome.
+ Ensures that all activities related to the HR Business Partner function comply with legal requirements and relevant labor laws and the Employment Act.
+ Participates in discussions with regional and/or functional areas relative to changes and updates on HR-related programs, policies, and benefit programs. Plans and organizes staff recreation activities such as group health checks, celebrations, and annual company events.
+ Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. Tracks employee metrics around engagement, satisfaction, turnover, attrition, etc., and delivers key recommendations to keep them in the desired range. supports data preparation and analysis for monthly and quarterly HR Dashboard reports. Supports planning for staff career advancement and succession.
+ Coordinates with managers across teams for the resolution of employee relations issues and drives HR and culture initiatives. Participates in investigations related to employee matters.
+ Delivers projects to resolve complex HR problems by analyzing diverse variables and integrating data to identify trends and develop solutions. Collaborates with other HR functions to implement programs, policies, and preventative measures.
+ Implements company and department programs and policies around people and culture issues, employee hiring, performance management, rewards, resignations, etc. within timelines by interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders. Maintains and promotes a positive working environment, improving employee satisfaction and morale, leading to increased productivity and employee retention.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
Experience:
+ Minimum 3 years of work experience with a Master’s degree or 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.
Licenses and Certifications:
+ Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) (Preferred)
+ SHRM Certified Professional (Preferred)
Work Requirements:
+ Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping, standing, climbing, walking, etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.
