Job Description:

We believe manufacturing is important not only for what it makes, but for what it makes possible for the future.  The L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions (IVS) sector manufacturing engineering team is responsible for providing our manufacturing operations with the vision, technology, and expertise they need through the entire production process.  In this role, you will work with a team of talented engineers and technicians responsible for providing our manufacturing operations with the vision, technology, and expertise they need through the entire production process, from discovery and design to manufacturing and fulfillment.

Essential Functions:

Leadsdevelopment of electrical or mechanical assembly strategies for new products, including process design and development, process documentation, and fixture design and developmentPlans and supports the build and modification of mechanical and electronics systems including procurement support, assembly method/work instruction generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, implementation of design changes, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issuesLeads and/or supports the root cause and corrective action processProvides technical support for launching new equipment to automate and/or enhance production on complex optics or electronics assembliesParticipates in general factory support activities: Yellow Board, Lean Huddles, continuous improvement initiatives, failure investigations, and auditsSupports divisional and Operations financial and productivity metrics and improvement goals.Provides design for manufacturability balanced between theoretical electrical applications and real-world situationsUses lean, process technology, and automation to continuously improve the manufacturing environments driving cost leadership, world class quality and customer satisfactionPartners with Engineering, Manufacturing Quality and Continuous Improvement (e3) to integrate process integrity methods such as xFMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a daily way of life

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent with electro-optical systems experience.IPC Training and CertificationManufacturing experience in the assembly and test of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assembliesKnowledge of component level troubleshooting of electronic circuit boards, and electronics testing processesExperience reading schematics and engineering drawingsAppreciation for building and working hands on with materialsExperience deploying new manufacturing technologies, and assisting with new product development / design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)LabVIEW, CAD, automation experienceDemonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational changeDemonstrated experience / certification in Lean principles, Six Sigma, mistake proofing, etc.Thrives in a fast pace and adaptable environmentDemonstrates the highest levels of integrity, openness, compliance, and honesty in all business interactions.
