Job Description:

This position will be a new role within the transformed Supply Chain Organization of the Maritime business. The purpose of this role be to handle the Material Estimating aspects of the Program Proposal process. The Material Estimator will be responsible for accurately compiling the complete cost of materials needed for various projects and tasks in support of production and spares proposals.

Essential Functions:

Meticulously generates a Consolidated Bill of Materials (CBOM), tailored to align with the specific schedule and unique demands of each proposal based on the RFP.Leverages a combination of supplier quotes, historical purchase data, price lists/catalogs, available stock materials, engineering estimates, and any relevant adjustments to determine items to be sent out for supplier quotations. Conduct thorough analyses of technical drawings, parts lists, specifications, and related documents to accurately ascertain estimating needs. Compiles, reviews, and approves all material cost data and provides the accurate detailed priced complete CBOM spreadsheet/report with lead-times to the Pricing Department. Effectively communicates with external individuals and internal customers to deliver projects under pressure and meet proposal deadlines and budget constraints to external customers.Actively supports GATE reviews and robust support during Customer/DCAA audits.Ensures that all estimations and procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.Maintain accurate records of estimated and actual material usage for future reference and continuous improvement of estimation processes.

Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. CitizenBachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experienceAbility to create Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, Excel VLOOKUP’s and organization of large amounts of dataWorking knowledge of material pricing techniquesStrong presentation skills and attention to detailInterpersonal skills and adept at resolving time sensitive problemsUnderstanding and working knowledge of engineering documentation and product configurationMust have advanced computer skills (preferably Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and a solid understanding and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Costpoint and SAP preferred)Adaptable and change oriented attitude that will be able to work through change management aspects of the new organization

Preferred Additional Skills:

Ability to work and prioritize effectively and complete work timely in a deadline driven environment Aerospace/Defense industry experience preferredUnderstanding of Business Acquisition ProcessKnowledge of FAR 15-2 and Truth and Negotiations Act

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $58,500-108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
