Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team dedicated to designing and developing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype, and produce the next generation of unmanned aircraft. Your expertise will help transform requirements into innovative and reliable design solutions that exceed customer expectations.

The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions:

Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for our unmanned air vehicle product linesWork closely with Aero and Electrical Engineers to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design (preferably PTC Creo).Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks that are based on making the most efficient aircraft possibleProvide experienced-based insight to Integrated Product Team (IPT) LeadsPresent data in design review settings (e.g. PDR, CDR), both internal and externalProvide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception to production. Provide hands-on support during integration activities. Strong mechanical skills are required, to include experience with fabrication and assembly of mechanical systems.Provide material review board contributions by determining disposition for non-conformancesThis role requires your presence on-site. Hybrid and remote options are not available for this position. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as requiredUp to 10% travel may be requiredOther duties as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering or similar field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearanceMinimum 3 years experience in mechanical design, requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, component 3D CAD modeling, data collection, and product documentationProfessional experience in design for and testing of products3+ years experience in 3D CAD modelingExperience using Microsoft Office products

Preferred Additional Skills:

Active Secret clearance highly preferred PTC Creo preferredExperience in mechanical, thermal, or kinematic analysisPrior experience in developing UAV or aircraft structures or subsystemsExperience in packaging electronicsStrong hands-on capabilities, to include integration and diagnosis of complex mechanisms and productsExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
