Southwire Job Description

The product specialist is responsible for supporting daily business functions around Energy Utility wire to ensure success of the product(s) within the company and market. The specialist will collaborate with both internal and external team members across multiple business areas, regions, agents, distributors and contractors to promote profitability, serviceability and innovation in building wire products. Must function with minimal direct supervision in a team environment in order to meet or exceed individual, team, and company goals and objectives. 

 

Description of Duties and Responsibilities 

Provide assistance to the Product Manager with support of daily business activities to drive success of Utility products Manage and coordinate daily routines in support of the overall lifecycle of Utility products including but not limited to: product training, inventory and order management, production planning, demand forecasting, driving sales, and new business development  Maintain market lead-time requirements and provide guidance on capacity planning  Coordinate with Master Data Management, Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, Technical Support and other functional areas throughout the company in support of the product lines  Develop detailed reports in SAP and Business Intelligence to support the utility wire product team’s planning and decision making  Be an expert with respect to energy utility wire products and competition.  Provide market intelligence as necessary to position Southwire for growth and profit opportunities   Other responsibilities as assigned 

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements 

A Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field required  Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in Sales, Product Management, Logistics, or Engineering  Basic knowledge of wire and cable and applications preferred  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required  A high level of commitment to organizational success and the capacity to drive growth in sales   Strong business acumen and analytical skills required  Capable of prioritizing workload, attaining needed resources, and executing a plan that optimizes results  Displays original thinking and creativity; meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas; balances the needs of various stakeholders   Ability to travel up to 15%  Competencies Action OrientedBalances StakeholdersCollaboratesCustomer FocusNimble LearningPlans and Aligns
