Role/Department:
We have a new opportunity created within our Brokerage Product Team. The role is for an experienced Product Owner that has strong Investment Banking and/or Brokerage experience in a Product or Analysis role with a particular focus on Operations and Regulatory Reporting. The primary location for the role is in Northern Trusts London office, but has a global remit. The role sits within the Brokerage business and will report into the Head of Brokerage Product.
Brokerage sits under the broader Banking and Markets umbrella and is responsible for Agency Execution of client business. It has a particular focus on outsourced execution and covers multiple asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience, will be a quick thinker and can solve problems when they arise. Strong communication skills are critical to the role and the ability to remain calm and approachable in a high paced environment is also very important.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Partners with Product Management and Business stakeholders to influence, support, and champion product vision and roadmaps, and to coordinate value realization across teams beyond their direct responsibilityAnticipates potential future client needs and proactively positions product capabilities to take advantage of business opportunitiesMaintains a well-groomed backlog of development items to be used for efficient implementation of projectsWorks with the Global Operations and Regulatory Reporting teams to drive forward new requirements and prioritise their defects and enhancementsInfluences the shape and champions the adoption of automated testing frameworks; reviews and agrees acceptance criteria for new development and signs off on business-readiness, in coordination with quality assurance team membersWork with the development team to foster an environment of teamwork, collaboration and enthusiasm, championing the experimentation with and adoption of advanced and emerging AGILE techniquesFace off to Feature Team Business OwnerAgree catalogue prioritiesProvide estimates and costsProvide ongoing progress updatesDiscuss timescales and resource constraintsProvide product demosDiscuss phased deliveryManage Feature Team Priorities and Work Items with TechnologyUpdate technology on Business Owners prioritiesFace off to business users to capture detailed global requirementsDocument requirements and raise JIRAsDiscuss effort with development and add estimates to JIRAsAdd JIRA’s to sprints and provide feedback to Business owners regarding effort and delivery datesBe responsible for delivery of the requirement as it moves through the sprint cycle from development to testing to go-liveParticular focus on Operations and regulatory reporting requirements and catalog ownership in those areasDocumentation and TestingDocument changes and educate support team and the business. Each major delivery or change will be included in a ‘Quick Reference Guide (QRG)’Work with the test team to script the changes for initial delivery and then discuss automation and regressionAssist support teams in each region post go-liveSkills/Qualifications:
