Southwire Job DescriptionThe PM promotes a COZ (Culture of Zero) related to Safety and Quality. This individual works with Commercial and Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Customers to collect vital information to develop strategies, goals, and objectives that will ensure projects are executed achieving the highest levels of Safety and Quality while delivering on time and under budget (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
• Support and provide input to develop strategies, goals and objectives specific to project execution at each project phase
• Oversee project activities, functions, and resource use
• Identify required resources to implement project strategies and achieve project goals
• Develop and manages project plans and schedules; scopes of work
• Define project responsibilities and accountabilities for project management and engineering staff
• Transition project management and injection activities from planning to completion phase
• Assist the business development team in responding to requests for proposal and bid process
• Uphold and communicate safety standards
• Asses site safety and report recommendations to the operations manager
• Acquire all permits required for the project
• Manage project flow
• Accurately close out projects
• Track status of project from release to close
• Interact with customer on all aspects of the project
• Have a basic understanding of the project P&L
Project Controls
• Facilitate invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors
• Review subcontractor billing
• Prepare client and subcontractor change orders
• Monitor, control and report on the financial performance of projects
• Monitor and proof change issue log
Team Management
• Coach and develop members of project team
• Mentor assigned project staff
• Develop project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors, etc.
• Act as steward of company culture; communicate and influence compliance with policies and procedures
Job Specific Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required
Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera or Suretrak preferred
Carry out other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Three-five (3-5) years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction is required
Experience with working with a General Contractor or Electrical Subcontractor preferred.
PE, CPM, LEED, PMP professional designations are preferred
