The Specialist will be a subject matter expert leading the long-term sustainability of the Lean Labs initiative within the S12 CAR T Quality Control department. This position is responsible for applying knowledge of lean principles and various operational excellence strategies to improve the QC value stream. **Shift Available:** + Monday - Friday, Onsite Day Shift, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. **Responsibilities:** + Guide and support enhancements of visual management and leveling solutions alongside the quality control functional areas. + Support the development and maintenance of KPIs, metrics, and heat maps created to measure performance of quality value streams. + Schedule, facilitate and provide classroom training on lean principles and other problem-solving tools. + Utilize SME knowledge of lean methodologies to collaborate with QC personnel to define strategy, plan, and execution of continuous improvement projects. + Collaborate with QC laboratories and other departments for the execution of continuous improvement projects. + Actively participate in the lean labs community of practice to stay allied with the greater community within the BMS network. + Perform other tasks as required to support the QC laboratories. **Knowledge & Skills:** + Experience with different operational excellence concepts including (but not limited to) lean labs, tier governance, Gemba walks, Kaizen, A3 problem solving, change management, and project management. + Fundamental understanding of the functional areas including, but not limited to, microbiology, flow cytometry, molecular techniques, sample management, material management, equipment management, data management, quality record management, and training. + Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust style to influence at all levels. + Ability to collaborate cross functionally to drive operational and quality excellence. + Personal organization, multitasking, time management, critical reasoning, problem solving, and decision-making skills. + Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). **Basic Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree at minimum. An equivalent combination of higher education and experience in a regulated environment to be considered. + 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience. + 1-2 years of experience using lean tools. + Strong communication skills required.
