Specialist, Streaming Support
The team at SIDEARM provides the technology platform that powers the official websites, mobile apps, statistical integration, live audio and video streaming, and e-commerce platforms of more than 1,600 collegiate athletic partners across the nation, including 300 NCAA Division I programs, and over 50 of the 65 Power 4 athletic departments.  We are proud that millions of sports fans experience the work we do each year. 

We are actively accepting applications for a Support Specialist, Streaming to join our support team. In this role, you’ll focus on providing best-in-class live audio and video streaming support for over 25,000 live streams across the collegiate landscape.

Responsibilities

Develop and nurture client relationships 

Monitor and communicate with SIDEARM partners regarding the quality of live streams 

Train clients on audio/video streaming area of the SIDEARM CMS  

Assist clients with troubleshooting streaming issues 

Provide end-user support for fans having difficulties viewing streams 

Troubleshoot fan subscriptions for client schools 

Assist with the oversight of SIDEARM Streaming staff 

Contribute to the overall success of SIDEARM Sports 

This position will be part of a streaming services team with a rotating schedule that allows us to provide industry-leading service to our clients during the unique hours of college athletics. It will include working some evenings and weekends during the athletic calendar (August through May).

You are a superb communicator. You’ll need to be a confident communicator who can control a conversation and be able to translate technical details to a non-technical audience.  

  

You are eager to learn.  We’d love for you to have expert-level exposure to the technology that powers video streaming, but it’s not an absolute requirement.  We acknowledge that our environment is very specific and unique to our company, so you’ll need to be extremely comfortable with streaming technology in general and be ready and willing to learn from the moment you’re hired.  

 
You are a problem solver. No two streaming problems are ever the same and there are dozens of ways in which a live video stream can be produced and distributed. You’ll have to be able to think on your feet to quickly troubleshoot and solve problems in mere minutes in a high-stress, high-reward environment. 

  

You have a positive attitude.  The needs of the live video streaming world can be demanding at times.  You’ll be able to juggle competing priorities while maintaining a positive and forward-thinking outlook.   

You are a leader, but also a team player. You’ll be comfortable getting your hands dirty and helping our clients and fans directly, but you’ll also be the day-to-day contact of our team of 20-plus streaming specialists who all have one unified goal at day’s end: providing a great experience for fans and streaming partners alike.   

 
You are accountable. SIDEARM is a team of various talents and responsibilities, all working together to build products that connect with our clients and fans. Every member of our team works cohesively to solve problems and complete the task at hand. 
 

Minimum Requirements   

1+ years of video production and/or streaming experience 

Basic understanding of a variety of software and hardware streaming encoders and solutions. 

Ability to quickly resolve complicated issues 

Comfortable with new technology, web services, and software products  

  

We’ll be extra impressed if you have experience with: 

Live Sports Streaming 

Tricaster, SlingStudio, Wirecast and Blackmagic capture devices. 

Video and audio codecs and video standards (frame rates, resolutions, bitrates) 

Pay Transparency

The approximate base pay range for this position is $19 to $20. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and/or sales compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience as well as geographic location.
