Job Description:   

The Specialist, Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation. The Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.

Essential Functions:

Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domainsReview and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirementsDesign and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domainsTranslate the voice of the customer into system level requirementsEvaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designsWrite system level requirementsWrite subsystem specifications based on system level requirementsWrite effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirementsReview and evaluate diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements 

Job Qualification Requirements:  

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. A degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.Experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardwareConfiguration and integration of radio sets, satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment 

Preferred Additional Skills:

Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test supportExperience in electrical design creating electrical wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, and analyzing power loadsKnowledge of requirement traceability methods and purposeExcellent written, oral communications skillsWillingness to travelProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teamcenter, etc.
