About the role

We are looking for a Talent Management Specialist to join our Talent & Employee Experience (TalEx) team, who will play a key role in the development and delivery of world class Talent Management programs and initiatives that are aligned to our IFC people strategy.

With your HR experience and collaborative style, you will help advance enterprise talent management priorities and guide other Talent Management Specialists and Sr. Consultants as they lead enterprise and business-specific talent projects and initiatives. You will also contribute to key employee experience initiatives at Intact.

What you’ll do here:
 

Ensure an integrated approach to talent where TalEx, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Global HR and HR Business Units (BUs) are aligned and contributing to an optimal and measurable talent strategy and experience.
 

Act as a thought leader and strategic partner, providing guidance, support and coaching to BU Talent Management Specialists, Sr. Consultants and HRCs on world class talent practices.  Support HR and Leaders in developing and promoting a talent mindset across the organization by:

Driving key talent management initiatives with the goal of building capability and driving consistency and best practices in continuous talent management across Intact Canada.

Leading enterprise talent projects and providing subject matter expertise and guidance to BU Talent Management Specialists or Sr. Consultants as they lead or co-lead talent projects and initiatives.

Coaching, mentoring and supporting the growth of BU Talent Management Specialists and Sr. Consultants on talent area of expertise.

Ensuring Intact is well-equipped to advise and support leaders in identifying a diverse set of people with the right skills and capabilities to lead the business.

Contributing to the strategy and design thinking approach for Talent Management; integrating DEI strategies into Talent Management.

Taking a data driven approach to talent by analyzing talent data to identify strengths and gaps.

Developing Talent Health Check framework and supporting BU Talent Management Specialists and Sr. Consultants to deliver relevant talent insights and recommendations to their HR and BU leaders.

Working with HRCs and BU Talent Management Specialists and Sr. Consultants to get to know the relevant talent at Intact and to drive cross functional movement of talent​.

Ensuring quality development and visibility plans are in place for Top Talent and their development is progressing. 

Overseeing internal talent sourcing with BU Talent Specialists and Sr. Consultants for Director-level recruitment process, ensuring proper feedback loop with relevant stakeholders throughout the process.

Working with BU Talent Specialists and Sr. Consultants to recommend or confirm nominations for Leadership Programs and internal /external events (e.g., Senior Leadership Accelerator (SLA), the Intact Leader for Aspiring leaders, A-Effect, RISE, Catalyst, Intact Town Halls or Connecting Coast to Coast talk show, etc.)

Expanding talent identification and development efforts further down in the pipeline.​

Enhancing succession planning process including ongoing assessment of succession plans and identifying weak plans.  Support BU Talent Management Specialists and Sr. Consultants to work with HRCs to help leaders build action plans to close any gaps or increase the strength and diversity of the plans.

Ensuring VP+ succession plans stay up to date as talent movements take place, org changes occur, etc.

Acting as a SME on Assessment Tools (administer assessments, ensure they are actively used to support employee development, track aggregate BU trends).

Maintaining a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends & best practices to identify, develop and retain valuable employees. 

Assessing and adopting relevant talent management tools and technology to drive efficiency and reduce manual work.

Developing success measures for talent initiatives.

What you bring to the table:

Experience in either talent management or an HR generalist role supporting the business with a passion for talent management and employee development.

Strong coaching and mentoring skills.

Strong ability to influence.

Excellent strategic thinker with a global vision and mindset.

Strong critical thinking skills to challenge assumptions and the status quo. 

High tolerance for working with ambiguity.

Strong organizational knowledge and business acumen.

Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills.

Resourceful (able to research / find / leverage available information) and innovative.

Good agility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Strong demonstration of IFC’s Leadership Success Factors.

Bilingual (English/French) is strongly preferred considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
