Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Risk and Assurance, the newly created position of Specialist, Value Chain (Supplier) will lead the optimisation of how supply chain risks are captured, monitored and reported, ensuring controls and mitigation strategies are effective.
The primary purpose of the role will be to drive the enhancement, deployment and management of a purposeful risk framework that optimizes the selection, onboarding and ongoing relationship management with suppliers of goods and services, sub-contractors and third parties.
To be considered for the position, the ideal applicant will bring depth of relevant experience in the design and execution of scalable, cross-functional solutions pertaining to global supply chain risk and opportunity, and in conducting complex due diligence and risk assessments in line with regulatory and governance standards relevant to geographic location.
To be effective in the role will require a confident, collaborative communication style and strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify root causes, develop innovative solutions and to foster an environment committed to continuous improvement.
The ideal applicant will also have:
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and/or Business Administration Previous experience in large-scale mining operations and global supply chain Knowledge of supply chain risk management, supplier due diligence, and continuous improvement principlesProficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to extract insights, identify trends and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain performanceProficient skills in SAP and Ariba and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The position will suit applicants currently living in Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane. Residents of another Australian capital city will be considered for the ideal candidate. The role will be offered on a hybrid/work from home basis utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in the role. Full eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
