Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To provide support and consultation to Vodacom specific regions in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental issues as well as ensure that Vodacom SA retains system certification by meeting all Health & Safety KPI’s.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Define and implement a regional HSE plan Initiate transformational drives within the region to move HSE ownership to employees Coordinate visible leadership initiatives and track cultural changes on behaviour and attitudeManage and update the HSE system with current informationDevelop, empower and conduct safety inspections in line with a site supervision modelTrain or facilitate the training of regional staff on HSE related statutory requirementsDrive the environmental strategy in the region through key stakeholdersParticipate in internal and external audits as well as policy reviews and statutory enquiriesIdentify high risk projects and ensure contractor compliance and project safety compliance prior to commencementProject manage special HSE related projects including the task-group, project plan and take responsibility for the project deliverableProvide specialist HSE support and consultation in the RegionCollate data and compile qualitative and quantitative reports aligned with Exco and board reportsIdentify HSE risks, and methodically calculate risk to region. Identify and implement control plans to mitigate or manage the risk to an acceptable levelDrive standard and policy implementation in the region and review implementation effectiveness.Create a sharing and learning platform to promote HSE awareness in the regionEnd-to-end HSE monitoring and control of Out Of Home (OOH) activities e.g. billboards.The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 

3-5 years experience (Essential)Matric and Degree/National Diploma in a Safety-related field (Recommended) ORCertificate in Environmental Management (Recommended) ORA Completed NEBOSH/SAMTRAC Certificate  (Recommended) 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

ISO 45001 - detailed knowledge and ISO 14001 -basic knowledgeSouth African Health and Safety legislation - detailed knowledge  Occupational Safety concepts - detailed knowledge  ILO Standards – basic knowledgeRisk Management principles and/or ISO 31000 – basic knowledgeProject management principles  Computer literacyInterpersonal   Communication (verbal and written)  Presentation  Facilitation   Problem-solving  We make an impact by offering:
