The position is a supporting role in Ally’s Financial Crimes Compliance organization, providing tactical execution for critical AML functions across the Ally Enterprise and Business Lines. Reporting into the Manager, Data Science AML Customer Monitoring, this role supports AML model development and execution and will assist the organization by delivering effective and efficient solutions to AML initiatives. This role requires technical acumen as well as the ability to simplify concepts for cross functional teams.
Partner with the Enterprise Sanctions, AML Investigations team, Enhanced Due Diligence, the AML Program Management team, Enterprise Technology and lines of business in ensuring that the day-to-day operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, in addition to company policies and procedures.

The Work Itself Responsible for day-to-day activities within AML Analytics and Operations, specifically the Data Science team Support monitoring of current AML processes and developing new transactional and/or behavioral processes and models as needed, summarizing analytical detail and narrative of findings to manager Assist in maintaining and tuning current models (e.g., Customer Risk Scoring model) Assist in integrating new technology solutions; implement team wide as appropriate Leverage machine learning capabilities where applicable to facilitate model development initiatives Identify data anomalies that impact downstream AML processes and partner with AML Data Management or IT to resolve Perform risk management to understand and quantify risk, and maintain a risk minds Support AML Analytics & Operations automation tool management and enhancements Ensures day-to-day operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and the organization's policy Assists technical teams with migration to new transaction monitoring and case management tools, as applicable Assists in preparation of memos and model documentation for senior leadership, regulatory agencies, internal audit, Model Risk Management, and testing teams Maintain a current understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practice, criminal typologies and developing trends Analyze all data for data trends and anomalies and present findings Perform ad-hoc reporting for other AML functions, as needed Promote teamwork and collaboration to consistently deliver to the standards required Uses judgment, creativity, and sound technical and analytical knowledge to develop and recommend solutions relating to company policies and standard practices The Skills You Bring Bachelors' Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Mathematics or related major 2+ years in banking/finance industry or data science Programming experience using Python and SQL required. Experience performing statistical analysis and developing models required Experience extracting data from Snowflake data warehouse is a plus. Base Pay Range: $65000 - $115000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
