**Job Description Summary**
As a Specialist – Microelectronics for Aerospace Research, you will work with and support engineers in executing various microelectronic and sensor-based system projects for GE Aerospace applications. You need to be comfortable with designing and populating printed circuits, populating wiring enclosures, and designing fixtures and systems for evaluation of electronic devices and sensors. You will be expected to support the electrical and mechanical evaluation of sensor systems, from mechanical alignment, computer or microcontroller connectivity, data collection analysis.

**Job Description**
**Roles and** **Responsibilities**
+ Procure, fabricate, and assemble electrical and mechanical components, subsystems and complete system assembly of engineering prototypes for research programs.
+ Design fixtures, electrical and electronic subsystems, instrumentation, data acquisition, mechanical and thermal subsystems, that facilitate the evaluation of sensor and devices intended for a wide variety of applications.
+ Determine experimental requirements for evaluating electronic device and sensor systems by studying system and customer requirements.
+ Develop and implement test procedures for systems and document performance characteristics.
+ Troubleshoot and solve electrical and mechanical problems unassisted where objectives are clearly defined but course of action must be considered and determined.
+ Perform all work in accordance with EHS guidelines and compliance policies
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Bachelor degree with 3 years of experience or Associate degree with 10 + years of experience, with a primary focus in technology applied to electronics and sensor systems.
+ Experience in designing and commissioning of electronic circuits and printed circuit board layout applied in sensor and measurement systems with considerations on signal fidelity, noise, EMI/EMS, and thermal management.
+ Substantial experience in the design of test fixtures, including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and instrumentation technologies.
+ Experience in designing electrical and electronic subsystems for a wide range of applications.
+ Experience with the experimental evaluation of electronics and sensor systems
+ Documentation of test setup, major procedures, findings/results
+ Preliminary data processing skills and using MS Excel
+ Willingness to learn engineering software tools for design and experiment operation, like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, LTSpice, Matlab, LabView etc.
+ **US Citizenship is required**
+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
The base pay range for this position is 60,000 - 120,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on March 29, 2025
