Specialist Analyzer Technician

If you are a Specialist Analyzer Technician looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Houston, Texas location, your technical expertise in Gas Chromatograph (GC) instrument testing will be demonstrated to support customers in the oil and gas, petrochemical/chemical, and other industrial process markets! 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Technical Training & Mentorship Acts as a subject matter authority for the lab team on gas chromatography instrument testing methods and helps to set and develop standard processes for the team. Provide training and technical support to junior technicians and analysts, sharing expertise in GC operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Stay current with advancements in GC technology and standard methodologies to continuously improve lab processes and capabilities. Operation & Analysis Operate and maintain gas chromatography (GC) instruments and associated analytical equipment to analyze complex samples. Perform routine and non-routine sample analyses, interpret chromatograms, and report accurate results Assist and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests with Customers when needed Quality Control & Documentation Maintain accurate documentation of all production, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards. Review and validate analytical data to ensure compliance with standards and industry regulations. Safety & Compliance Ensure laboratory activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Conduct routine inspections to maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Who You Are:

You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse team members.   For This Role, You Will Need: Associate degree in the sciences/technology or a related field Minimum of 5 years in gas chromatography analysis or technical experience of equivalent, including extensive experience in GC troubleshooting Ability to follow safety rules and procedures Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds Mobility to climb step ladders or work in elevated positions Ability to read and interpret drawings/schematics. Working knowledge of compressed gas and regulators, ability to read gauges Experience with collaborating with multiple computer technologies (MON2020, Excel, Word, PDF) Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 

Deep knowledge of gas chromatography instrumentation and related chemistry, including the use of FID, FPD, TCD, MS, and other GC detectors. Experience with testing Rosemount-specific hardware and application methods is preferred. Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues with GC equipment and analytical methods.   High level of accuracy in performing analyses, maintaining equipment, and documenting processes.  Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills for working with team members, management, and other departments.
