About This Role

Reporting to the Director – Reporting, Constraints & Benchmarking, the Specialist – Constraints will be responsible for applying a range of analytical tools and techniques to assess and report on productivity levels and diagnose bottlenecks to support the prioritization of Business Improvement efforts.

 

This position is ideally located in the Americas or Australia. Candidates near a Newmont site or regional office are strongly encouraged to apply. Given the global scope of responsibilities, this role requires flexible working hours. The selected candidate must be able to travel domestically and internationally to our operating sites or regional offices to collaborate with site and business leaders.
 

What You'll Do

 

Apply a range of analytical tools and techniques to assess productivity levels and diagnose bottlenecks leveraging the Theory of Constraints methodology.Monitor, report and provide insight to operational leadership on opportunities identified.Develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance capability related to constraint methodology.Assess industry trends and use of constraints and integrate innovative solutions into our processes.Monitor, report and provide insight to operational leadership on opportunities identified.Actively participate in the Full Potential Community of Practice and other opportunities to drive collaboration and business improvement.Prepare detailed reports on project progress, risks, and opportunities for executive review.What We’re Looking For

 

Education: Relevant qualifications in Mining, Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Management paired with substantial experience in the mining or related industries.A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, or Mining), Business Analytics, Operations Management, , or a related field is preferred but not required.Certifications in TOCICO (Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization), Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage.Registration as a practicing professional engineer would be viewed favorablyExperience: Hands-on experience with the Theory of Constraints methodology in a production or mining environment, with the ability to apply it practically and communicate insights clearly.Site operational experience is highly preferred.Proven track record of delivering effective training and workshops related to constraints and operational methodologies.Experience presenting technical insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.Skills: Technical Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, MS Office applications like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for detailed reporting and presentation.Ability to influence key operational and site leaders using facts and figures.Skilled in negotiating and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve productive outcomes.Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.Knowledge: Strong understanding of productivity analysis, operational constraints, and industry trends.Familiarity with best practices in constraint management and benchmarking.Why Join Newmont?

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,100 - $130,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
