Employment Terms: This job is a full time, benefited FLSA Non-Exempt position in the Student Affairs Division that reports to the Coordinator – Support Services. This position will report to the Alpharetta North-Fulton Campus
Salary : $44,370/yr
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8-5pm and F 8-4pm
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 11127): High school diploma or equivalent *and* one (1) year of work -related experience OR Microsoft Office Application Professional Certificate *and* one (1) year related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or higher in counseling, education, psychology, or student services and two (2) years’ experience providing services to students with disabilities.
One to two years of postsecondary education experience. Proven interpersonal skills are a must for working effectively with faculty, colleagues, and students. Experience working with diverse student populations, exceptional customer service, good organizational skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products are also required.
Successful candidates should possess the following:
· A firm understanding of civil rights laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, as they apply to the postsecondary level.
· Effective skills in working one-on-one with students with disabilities and collaborating with staff and faculty.
· Experience in coordinating and arranging accommodations for students, including classroom modifications, testing materials, and alternative formats as necessary.
· The ability to evaluate documentation of disability information submitted by students to ensure it meets the guidelines established by TCSG.
· Initiative to take responsibility without direct supervision.
· A talent for managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines successfully.
· The ability to adapt to changing assignments and shifting priorities.
· Skills to accurately document and maintain student records.
· A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and working effectively as a team member.
Certain positions are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a two year ineligibility period for state employment. Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a two year ineligibility period for state employment

Coordinates services for students with disabilities to ensure that they are identified properly and receive necessary and reasonable accommodations, and/or auxiliary aids to complete school successfully

Evaluates documentation of disability information submitted by students with disabilities to assess whether it meets the required guidelines set by the College

Assists students with disabilities in interpreting diagnostic tests and vocational assessments in relation to their career objectives and courses of study

Serves as a resource for faculty and staff regarding the need for reasonable accommodations by students with disabilities

Abides by department policies and procedures regarding the implementation of accommodations at all times

Understands and adheres to confidentiality and federal mandates concerning records and releasing information

Proctors exams and cover Assistive Technology Lab when needed

Maintains working knowledge of assistive technology and the various accommodations available on the post-secondary level
