Basic Job Functions:
Trains, mentors, and evaluates semiconductor operation technical (MET/MTC) personnel & area operational leads in semiconductor operation process & equipment competencies. Assists in the development of process training documentation for semiconductor operation manufacturing equipment & process. Provides periodic competency status updates to First Solar Training Department. Acts as technical process liaison between semiconductor operation engineering tool owner and technical supervisor (LVLIII). Works with functional engineer to develop and maintain documents- drawings, process specifications, and control plans. Uses Failure Modes Effects Analysis. Develops and enforces standard operating procedures. Calibrates and verifies procedures. Maintains LOTO procedure and process equipment preventive maintenance job plan. Implements engineering system improvements that contribute to the achievement of throughput, yield, and product performance goals. Supports preventative maintenance (PM) procedures as needed- job plan/work orders (WO) and activities. Aids in troubleshooting and repairs of process systems of semiconductor operation equipment as needed. Leads specially assigned engineering activities and projects of the department. Directs and leads engineering activities on the line in absence of engineering tool owner. Is able to be on a flexible schedule in order to serve both day and night crew competency development responsibilities.Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Associates degree or certificate(s) in a technical discipline preferred. 2 years of First Solar technical work experience OR 8 years’ technical work experience in a Manufacturing setting required. Industrial experience in the broad fields of manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, wet chemistry, and/or automation is desired.Required Skills/Competencies:
General electro-mechanical system knowledge strongly preferred. Preferred capability of understanding and interpreting electrical, mechanical drawings and technical manuals during troubleshooting of machine. Comfortable with administering skills evaluations. Ability to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks. Maintain high standard of safety, quality awareness, and mindset. Good knowledge on EHS/Safety and FS Quality systems (ISO14001/ ISO9001/ ISO4500/OSHA and Environmental policies). High competency in analyzing engineering and statistical data and administering corrective/improvement action accordingly. Preferred knowledge of structural problem solving and analysis such as DMAIC, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone diagram, and 7-Steps. Advanced process and equipment troubleshooting, engineering control, and technical structural problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, metrics, Theory of Constraints (TOC), and equipment experience is preferred. Fundamental knowledge of working with different computer/devices applications e.g. Mobile Systems, communication devices, Interface with Machine Control Panels, and HMI interface. Basic knowledge of hand tools and measurement device usage and metrology. Working knowledge of LOTO procedures, Mechanical, Electrical, and stored energy hazards with good awareness of Control of Hazardous Energies. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs and FS analysis software (JMP, SAS, etc.). Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal. Proven leadership, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and ability to work a flexible workforce. Demonstrates good teamwork. Ability to work with minimal supervision.Essential Responsibilities:

Executes planned process experiments, collects, and analyzes data, and reports experimental results to establish manufacturing process window. Works with engineering team to run approved engineering tests (ETA) on assigned semiconductor operation equipment with all parameters set as defined in the approved ETA test plan or documented ETA work instructions. Directs and leads engineering activities on the line in absence of engineer. Interfaces with Technical Supervisor (LVLIII) and Area Manager as the voice of engineering. Works and supports engineering team to identify process deviations, root causes of equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting activities and repairing work. Works with functional engineer to help develop and maintain documents- drawings, process specifications/ control plans. Uses Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA). Develops and enforces standard operating procedures. Calibrates and verifies procedures. Maintains LOTO procedure and processes equipment preventive maintenance job plan. Contributes to the generations of process BKMs. Models safety and quality in daily tasks. Suggests improvements to OCAPs. Follows standards- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Company safe practices on all work assignments, adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards, 5S system, and PPE compliance. Fills the position of semiconductor operation tool owner whenever required and delegates task accordingly. Other duties as assigned. Job description subject to change at any time.
