Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in the preparation of the annual incurred cost submission. This includes confirming the allocations are consistent with the CAS Disclosure Statement, reviewing for unallowable costs, and reconciling the submission to the general ledger.
- Receive audit requests and successfully manage them to completion. Audit requests will be in response to Incurred Cost audits, Project related audits, Sarbanes-Oxley audits, etc. Pull necessary data to support audits (e.g. timesheets, invoices, bank records, etc.).
- Perform real-time reviews of accounts payable invoices for compliance with FAR and internal policies. - Maintain appropriate records and documentation; track, monitor, and report data to ensure all audit requests are addressed in a timely manner.
- Work with management to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policy.
- Identify potential government compliance problems and work to resolve them as well as to prevent future problems.
- Assist the Finance organization with month-end close activities.
- Assist with the development of cost impacts for proposed changes to cost accounting practices.
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Accounting, Finance or related field with an Accounting/Auditing focus is highly preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of related experience required.
- Experience in government contracting and familiarity with FAR and CAS.
- Experience with managing audit requests.
- Well organized and confident to work independently but be a strong team player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter able to take initiative within a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and multi-task on a variety of initiatives.
- Demonstrates confidence and credibility.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Experience in Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos preferred.
