About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Health and Safety Team at Yandi in the role of Health Specialist on a fixed term (12 month) contract, on a 5/2:4/3 roster with some site travel required to provide care and support to our WAIO Operations in the Pilbara.
The Health Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise in injury prevention and injury management activities. Through collaborating with the customer and building strong relationships with key stakeholders to create a culture that prioritises key health activities, the Health Specialist works to reduce occupational-related health risks, and to deliver health promotion that encourages a mentally healthy workforce.
About You
To be successful in the Health Specialist role you will have a genuine desire to help people achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes; combined with a clear understanding of the importance that the resources sector places on health and wellbeing management of our most important asset – our people.
Your previous experience will see you thrive in developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with medical and allied health providers, with excellent communication skills.
You will be committed to coaching, influencing, and encouraging a mentally healthy workforce.
Tertiary qualifications and proven experience in a health-related discipline (e.g. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology) is desirable.
You will have a working knowledge of relevant Health related legislation across Australia and coordinating workers compensation case management as well as delivering health strategies and injury and illness prevention initiatives.
You will be a fast learner and quickly develop a working knowledge of legislative health reporting and the injury and illness classifications that apply to your work areas, utilising company standards and OSHA reporting guidelines.
You will be able to work closely and share workload with your team but also be comfortable working autonomously when required and make informed decisions.
You will be motivated by a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to problem solve and drive positive change.
