Job DescriptionThe purpose of this job is to assist in developing and executing public relations and external communications to raise awareness and affinity about the company and brand.
Assist in developing public relations and external communications strategies and plans to support the company’s goals and objectivesAid in drafting and publishing external communications materials including press releases, blogs, talking points and media statementsDraft media responses for approval and respond to media requestsSupport in the planning and execution of public relations events and initiativesCollaborate with agency partners, stakeholders and team membersMaintain a calendar of external communications activities and partner with marketing and project management teams to track deliverablesSupport B2B and sales communications requests and draft materials including customer emails and newslettersServe as a resource for select business areas and assist with public relations efforts to support major initiativesAssist in preparing company spokespeopleOccasionally attend and serve as company representative at industry and media eventsTrack, monitor and report on company media results and utilize the organization’s media monitoring systemResearch and identify new public relations ideas, tactics and media opportunitiesModel behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest levelEnsure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresQualificationsBachelor's degree required1 – 2 years' experience with media, public relations and/or external communicationsExperience working within a large, matrixed organization preferredIntermediate Microsoft Office and Adobe skillsProficient in AP styleStrong relationship building and influencing skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to take initiative, work independently and as part of a teamAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsiblyAdditional InformationGeneral office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of timeAble to work evenings and odd hours as neededAble to lift 20 lbs.Travel required up to 15%
