Specialist I, HCM Payroll

**Job Summary:**
+ Perform data entry including entering new hires, salary adjustments, bank information, setting up direct deposits, changes of employee information and terminations, calculating trip cards for drivers, monitoring personnel files, and performing employee verifications
+ Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all department matters
+ Assist HCM Specialists II with weekly data entry for payroll transmission and with the weekly processing of payroll, e.g. printing, sorting and distributing weekly payroll checks
+ Review, research and correct exceptions on payroll audit reports under the guidance of HCM Specialists II’s.
+ In collaboration with the Supervisor and Specialists II, assists with testing for payroll HCM system patches, upgrades and modifications
+ With guidance from the HCM Payroll Specialist II, collaborate with internal and external customers to answer questions and resolve issues pertaining to payroll
+ In collaboration with the Supervisor and/or Specialist II, provide guidance to the field regarding Payroll policies and procedures
+ Regular attendance is required.

**Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
+ 6 months of Payroll/HR procedures and regulations experience required
+ Experience with HCM systems, AS/400 and Kronos highly preferred
+ Excellent problem identification and problem solving skills
+ Ability to prioritize workload with a high level of attention to detail and quality focus
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
+ Must be willing to work overtime, including longer hours on certain days of the week based on business needs
+ Knowledge of basic computer skills, including MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Word
+ Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
+ Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
+ Must be able to interact well with others
+ Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
+ Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
+ Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
+ Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States
