SPECIALIST II - EH&S
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SPECIALIST II - EH&S
Works with minimal direction in providing input to departmental resources on EH&S related mattersAssists in implementation of measures to help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materialsInvestigates accidents to identify root causes and reports results to management supports the implementation of corrective actionsInspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations and provides recommendations for improvementsSupports management in the EH&S training of employeesDirectly assist in the implementation of programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with all OSHA, NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements. Draft remedial plans and procedures for approval by management. Develop and maintain emergency procedures and personnel accountability systems. Participates in multi-discipline problem solving teamsPerform all other duties and special projects as assigned.REQUIRED FOR THE SPECIALIST II - EH&S
Bachelor’s Degree in a related safety science, engineering, or manufacturing.3-5 years of safety or manufacturing experience.Knowledge of instructional methods and techniques.Knowledge of agency, professional and/or industry standards and practices.Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures.Knowledge of the principles of production, processing, storage and distribution of manufactured goods.Knowledge of applicable measurement and/or sampling methods and technologies.Works with others to achieve team goals through expanded knowledge and skills within own function.
