Rockford, IL - Linden Rd - Filling industrialHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?IT Support Specialist provides desktop and infrastructure support for local locations as well as Airgas branch locations throughout the regionsDeliver technical support to end users, addressing PC, hardware, software, and IT infrastructure issues promptly and effectively.Resolve problems immediately whenever possible, provide feedback to end users, and communicate recurring issues to other IT staff.Ensure IT equipment, hardware, and software are regularly updated to meet organizational needs and security standards.Assist in deploying software packages, such as Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and approved applications.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software conflicts.Provide technical assistance and training to end users on computer operating systems and approved applications.Assist in evaluating and testing new technologies for feasibility and implementation.Assist in the administering of WAN, LAN, WAP equipment.Maintain and configure shared network printers and local printers.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with end users at all levels within the organization.Collaborate with the Company Central Help Desk (level I) to provide professional IT support.Work with the Company IT Security team to execute IT security projects and implement best practices.Develop and update technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.Document hardware and software inventory for each supported site.Provide technical support and consultation for IT projects and initiatives.Participate in after-hours support via cell phone as needed.Maintain confidentiality of client information and protect operations.Stay informed about current industry developments and technologies through personal development and education.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Occasional day travel within the region, with up to 10% overnight travel.
Pay 45k-60k
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong customer service skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both individually and as part of a team.Solid organizational, time management, and project estimating skills.Familiarity with current Windows Operating Systems.Experience supporting a Citrix thin client environment.Broad technical knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, with a basic understanding of VoIP technologies.Familiarity with Internet and Intranet concepts.Knowledge of Telephony, LAN and WAN concepts.Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Strong problem-solving and change management skills.Ability to create accurate, detailed documentation and present information to non-technical audiences.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Willingness to improve skills through personal development and attend classes outside of regular working hours.Willingness and ability to travel as required.Availability for overtime work when necessary.Physical Demands:
